Donated Goods App

Use case

How can software help to make life easier for charity shop volunteers? The British Heart Foundation receives donations of all shapes and sizes including furniture, clothing, electrical goods and homeware. Stock can be donated at various donation points, via collections from home or in person at one of their UK charity shops. Every donation must be sorted, tracked, and sold by volunteers.

The charity retailer needed an app that could handle their donated stock. That’s where the cloud-native K3|imagine platform came to the rescue.

Because the platform is flexible, works on any device and uses cloud technology, it was quick and easy to create an inventory tracking software solution that worked for the charity’s staff, volunteers and customers. Within days, the Donated Goods App was designed, built and deployed.

The K3|imagine Donated Stock App:

  • Is designed for a diverse range of volunteers to use
  • Does not require any user training
  • Is system agnostic
  • Prints price labels for donated goods
  • Records and manages all donated stock
  • Gets donated stock on display quickly, to be sold.

Today the app drives more revenue into The British Heart Foundation by recording and managing all donated stock in an efficient and easy way.

“K3 showed us how K3|imagine had been used in a totally different sector and what they had achieved with just a few days development and we were impressed. Imagine proved to be the intuitive solution we were looking for without excessive days to develop. It’s an agile product that was much needed to allow us to start with a blank piece of paper and K3|imagine was the perfect solution to fit our needs. For us to get a development solution literally in days, that was customer led, was absolutely amazing”.
